$10,000 Donation Was Part of Liberty Bank’s Annual Tradition of Spreading Kindness During the Holiday Season

During a check presentation at Connecticut Foodshare in Wallingford, Connecticut on Friday, February 2, 2024, Liberty Bank announced Connecticut Foodshare as their customers’ #1 choice to receive their annual $10,000 ‘holiday gift’ from the Bank.

The $10,000 was part of Liberty Bank’s holiday tradition every December where they make a sizable donation to a nonprofit in Connecticut. In December 2023, rather than making the selection themselves, Liberty Bank went directly to their customers and asked them to vote for one of three Connecticut non-profits to receive $10,000 from the Bank. Customers weighed-in and voted for Connecticut Foodshare.

The Liberty Bank team, led by Mark Gingras, Chairman of Liberty’s Board of Directors, visited Connecticut Foodshare’s Wallingford location to present the $10,000 check to Jason Jakubowski, President & CEO of Connecticut Foodshare.

“At Liberty Bank, we demonstrate our ‘Be Community Kind’ spirit in everything we do – from serving our customers’ banking needs and supporting our teammates to addressing the pressing challenges facing our communities,” said David W. Glidden, President & CEO of Liberty Bank. “We have strong community partners like Connecticut Foodshare who are making a meaningful difference in our communities. Our customers agree – that’s why we proudly presented this check to Connecticut Foodshare on Friday.”

“Community partners like Liberty Bank are making a difference in the lives of our neighbors. We are grateful to Liberty Bank and their loyal customers for their belief and support in our mission,” said Jakubowski.

In addition to their $10,000 donation, Liberty Bank teammates dedicated nearly 170 hours of their time volunteering at Connecticut Foodshare in 2023.
