Liberty Bank is teaming up with Save-A-Suit and WTNH News Channel 8 to collect suits, blazers, ties, shirts, women's items, dresses, and shoes for veterans returning home from active duty. This initiative supports local military men and women as they get reacquainted with the job interview process and look for long-term employment.
"We are thrilled to partner with Liberty Bank to support veterans in need. Corporate support is vital to making an impact. It means a lot to the veterans who have served our country," stated Jessica F. Ewud, Save-A-Suit Founding Partner and Executive Director.
During the first two weeks of May, anyone can support Connecticut's veterans by dropping off new or gently used business attire at any of Liberty Bank’s 55 branches throughout the state. “Our partnership with Save-A-Suit is driven by our employees’ passion for ensuring that our veterans succeed in the next stages of their lives,” stated Chandler J. Howard, Liberty Bank, President and CEO. “Liberty Bank also makes it a top priority to hire veterans and provide support when they are ready to reenter the workforce.”
This is the first time that Liberty’s branches will also serve as drop-off locations for Save-A-Suit. Donations will be delivered to the non-profit just in time for Memorial Day. Last year, Liberty Bank partnered with Save-A-Suit, led by Madison Branch Manager, Troy Bree, to host an internal donation drive with employees, collecting 110 suits and 657 items. "Our veterans have given us a lot over the years and this is a great opportunity for us to give back to them. Every little bit helps,” stated Troy Bree, Liberty Bank.
Save-A-Suit and its partners help veterans experience smoother transitions from service to civilian life. Since inception in 2010, the nonprofit has distributed over 4,000 suits to veterans and students.
Save-A-Suit is a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides our former military and college graduates with professional business attire and the confidence needed to succeed. Learn more at: www.saveasuit.org.
